Part of the Fancy Pants and Elephants Friendship Keepsakes Collection
Pascal is a small elephant who wanders around finding friends, and making a nest wherever he needs a home. He is sitting on a bed of peacock feathers with Indian textiles, European cities and an iridescent shell on his back.
The decoupage hand cut paper images are inspired by hotels, getaways and new cities and towns to explore.
Pascal Made a Nest is about holidays, going away with friends and escaping your daily life to relax and unwind. Time away with friends is precious and gives you the chance to catch up and find out what’s going on.
The shape of the wooden mug bases inspired this group of work. This is about meeting up with friends and having a chat about anything and everything over a cup of coffee (or something stronger) and reconnecting.
The pieces have soft curves with a strong silhouette, and the collection of images on the decoupage bases reference nature, animals, looking out of our windows, and observing what is going on around us. The domes are smaller and I wanted to get a sense of them being full of life, like a window we are peeking through to see what’s going on in the lives of others!
All of the pieces are made using recycled materials, found objects, hand-cut papers and are encased in reclaimed glass domes.
