Part of the Fancy Pants and Elephants Friendship Keepsakes Collection

The shape of the wooden mug bases inspired this group of work. This is about meeting up with friends and having a chat about anything and everything over a cup of coffee (or something stronger) and reconnecting.

In this piece you can see a rural countryside with a wintery sky, and a child holding a thrush. This piece is about the secrets your share with your closest friends - the fears or excitements that you keep close to your chest, and only reveal to a few. You trust these friends implicitly, as they do you.

The paper images from old books and magazines show blackbirds and thrushes, a child, butterflies, and a country side landscape, with a horse looking down on it all from on high. They are recollections from childhood, memories other days.

Hamilton is a ceramic carousel horse on a bed of real dried flowers. There are artificial flower components alongside feathers, textiles and other found objects.Wooden decoupage base with mixed media sculpture under a glass dome.

The pieces have soft curves with a strong silhouette, and the collection of images on the decoupage bases reference nature, animals, looking out of our windows, and observing what is going on around us. The domes are smaller and I wanted to get a sense of them being full of life, like a window we are peeking through to see what’s going on in the lives of others!

All of the pieces are made using recycled materials, found objects, hand-cut papers and are encased in reclaimed glass domes. The title of each one comes on a small card together with care instructions. The pieces vary in height from 22cm to 45cm.37cm x 11xm at widest point
