Plinth Parrot with ceramic figure

The Joy of Karma

Veracruz was no fool, and wise beyond her years. When a pirate attempted to domesticate her she went along with it until she had him eating out of her claw. Then she hypnotised him and commanded him to fly with her to the rainforest where he became her pet and the caretaker.

The base of this piece is wooden covered with paper mâché and decoupage, and the parrot is embellished with collected feathers, textiles, jewellery, dried flower components and beads. She has also been dressed with decoupage, paint and silver leaf.

All my pieces are individual and one-off - as I only work with recycled and reclaimed objects I never know what I am going to find. If you are looking for something particular, please ask - and I'll start looking!
