Gizelle always felt there was elegance inside her, at her core, but it rarely surfaced. Her sister Misty, in contrast, emitted grace with every move she made. For her, whether it was bending to tie her shoe, running from terror, or even falling, she managed all in a becoming fashion. However they both knew Gizelles other strength was her presence, her joie-de-vivre, her spirit. Also her derriere, which was huge and round and peachy and she loved it.
The hippo is a discarded toy, embellished with collected feathers, textiles, jewellery, dried flower components and beads. I have also dressed her with decoupage, paint and silver leaf. She has a cake topper ballerina on her back, and a clay pipe with dried flowers inside on her bottom, with painted hooves.
All my pieces are individual and one-off - as I only work with recycled and reclaimed objects I never know what I am going to find. If you are looking for something particular, please ask - and I'll start looking!
