Orkney loved pattern and she adored her spots. But she did not like looking like the other giraffes and she wanted to be different. All around her was foliage and grasses. She collected her favourites and started to create wreaths and buttonholes and flung them over her shoulders. When visitors saw her attempt to self adorn, they all assisted, and soon she became a tower of leafy garlands and intricate corsages and sprays.

Orkney was a discarded toy, and is now embellished with collected feathers, textiles, jewellery, dried flower components and beads. She has also been dressed with decoupage, paint and silver leaf.
